Ayurveda for Changing Seasons: Building Immunity for Winter

AyurvedaAyurveda is the sister science of yoga and focuses on the healing aspect through food and lifestyle.  This workshop introduces the basics of Ayurveda, India’s traditional natural healing system for body, mind and spirit, and shows how we can balance ourselves for the seasons by a simple adjustment of diet and lifestyle, a light detox and yoga practices.

We will specifically learn about the Vata dosha, which characterises the cold and windiness of late Autumn.  When a particular dosha increases in the envan Ayironment, it will tend to increase in our body, because we are all a part of nature.  If Vata predominates, we have to focus on balancing Vata with Pitta and Kapha to bring harmony back into body and mind.  Ayurveda looks at what we can do to counter Dosha imbalanMeredith Russellces, how to adjust our diet, lifestyle and yoga practice and how to boost our immunity for winter.

Meredith Russell is an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, Yogini, Artist and educator with a special interest in Indian art and culture. She continues to practice, study and teach in these areas.
